The journey is the prize
It seems some photographers place a high priority on “getting good photos”, but as I get older, I realize that simply being out and enjoying the world around me is the more valued prize.
I grew up in Oklahoma where I earned a bachelor’s degree in fine art. In 1986, my wife and I moved to Jackson Hole, WY and started a custom sign business. We sold the business in 1995 and I rekindled my interest in photography. I operated a photography tour company in Grand Teton National Park before moving to Loveland, CO in the spring of 2022 opening a completely new and exciting chapter of my life.
Currently, I am using two Sony A1 mirrorless camera bodies. I mix and match the two Sony A1 bodies with a Sony 200-600mm lens, a Sony 24-70mm lens, and a Sony 24mm lens for night work. I also use a Sigma 60-600mm lens with a Sigma adapter, and a Tamron 35-150mm lens. When needed, I support the gear with any one of several tripods and heads. When needed, I also take photos with an iPhone 13 Pro Max.
