Bald Eagles on the Front Range

Captured with a Sony A1 & Sigma 60-600mm lens

Action, Interaction, & Behavior!

I got lucky today and happened upon a Bald Eagle show! An Eagle had apparently just killed a Canada Goose. The event attracted a couple of additional Bald Eagles on a mostly frozen pond north of Loveland.

I would have been plenty happy to find one Eagle on a fresh kill, but the interaction between the three hungry Eagles made this so much more interesting. Wildlife photography is always about “action, interaction, & behavior”. On this day, I got a little of all three!

These photos were taken at my standard “birds in flight” settings of: 1/3200th second, F/7.1, and Auto ISO while in Manual Mode. With the bright morning light, the ISOs averaged around ISO 240. Captured with a Sony A1 & Sigma 60-600mm lens
