Benson Sculpture Garden – Up Close

One of Loveland’s Popular Attractions

Beautiful, and close to home!

The Benson Sculpture Garden is only a couple of miles from our home here in Loveland, CO. Of course, we are new to the area and don’t know as much about it as we should yet, but it is definitely worth checking out! Bronze sculptures are generously scattered along a path that snakes around a pond and slow moving stream.

Indian Lioness
Loveland Frog

There are hearts everywhere in Loveland, so you might expect to find one in the sculpture garden!

For this page, I chose to move in tight to harvest some of the fine details.

Sledders

I should probably go back to the park with a notebook and pen and write down the sculptor’s name and the title. Actually, they did all of the work. I just had to compose the image and push the shutter button!

Cowboy

Almost every piece is bursting with emotion.

Draft Horse

The sprinklers were watering one section of the park while I was there. I liked the small drops on some of the pieces.

Polar Bears

I’d suggest that most of the sculptures are cast in bronze, but there were others done in stone and steel.

The artists are amazing, both in craft and creativity. The annual sculpture show brings in the finest of artists and buying clients from all over the world. The art fair, held on the same weekend, is also well attended.
